David Alexander Appointed Operations Director for Europcar UK Group Responsible for Creation of UK

Europcar UK Group, the UK’s largest vehicle rental organisation, has appointed David Alexander as Operations Director for Europcar and National Car Rental UK.  Bringing over 7 year’s experience in the vehicle rental industry, David will be responsible for a combined network of over 250 Europcar and National locations throughout the UK, following the acquisition of the European operations of National by Europcar UK Ltd in March 2007.

David joined Europcar in May 2001 as Sales and Marketing Director and became Europcar’s Operations and Franchise Director in June 2004. He therefore brings a wealth of valuable knowledge and expertise to his new position. 

Prior to joining Europcar, David held sales and marketing positions in European based companies operating in capital goods, automotive supply and consumer durable industries. His highly successful career includes positions in the Middle East, the Far East and North America.

With annual fleet purchases of 90,000 vehicles, a market leading presence at 30 UK mainland airports and with downtown stations evenly distributed across the country, in his new role, David is responsible for managing the most comprehensive vehicle rental network in the UK. Additionally, David will be responsible for the largest car rental delivery and collection network in the world. In 2008, over a million delivery and collections will be made, enabling businesses and consumers to access car rental from National and Europcar at home or at work alike.
