EUROPCAR APPOINTED SOLE SUPPLIER TO E.ON Pan-European contract supports environmental targets

Europcar has secured a major pan-European contract with E.ON, the world’s largest investor-owned power and gas company. Under the new agreement, Europcar has been selected as E.ON’s sole vehicle rental supplier, helping the energy company meet its corporate and social responsibilities. Europcar has been a supplier to E.ON for over four years and its innovative approach to rental solutions has been a key part of the successful partnership.

E.ON needed a vehicle rental provider that could deliver across the whole of Europe and meet the far-reaching environmental demands of the business. E.ON chose Europcar for its ability to work in partnership to develop solutions that would meet its current and future transport requirements, developing with the business. Its key criteria covered environment, health and safety and cost- effective pricing, so the rental provider had to be able to deliver on all these areas.

David Graham, Fleet Manager for E.ON UK, comments, “At E.ON we take our corporate and social responsibilities very seriously.  We therefore needed a pan-European daily rental supplier who would work with us on our carbon agenda, to ensure we were meeting our company’s criteria on cutting carbon emissions. In response to our requirements, Europcar has responded excellently to our new policy of only using vehicles that have 120gms or 140gms carbon emission. This has also enabled us to meet our environmental targets by ensuring the range of vehicles being used by staff are restricted to those within the small and medium groups.

“One of the key benefits of working with Europcar is the constant focus the business has on developing and improving the service they deliver, whilst working with us to provide innovative solutions to new challenges we may face. This highly progressive service ensures Europcar delivers on all aspects of its service and means we have a very positive working relationship.”

David Waring, Regional Sales Manager of Europcar says, “We are delighted to be working with E.ON in a way that will not only help the business meet its current environmental targets but in terms of its future transport strategies. This is a major contract for Europcar, illustrating the power of our innovative approach to transport solutions, helping businesses to drive down costs, while meeting high standards of corporate responsibility.”
